New Image and Set Photos from SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS

by Matt Goldberg    Posted: August 25th, 2011 at 7:33 am

Warner Bros. has released a new image along with a couple set photos for Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.  Nothing I’ve seen so far has convinced me they’re upping their game with this one.  It looks like more of the same, which isn’t bad but the first film was good with the potential to be great.  That’s what I hoped we would get from the sequel but only the casting of Jared Harris as Moriarty has piqued my interest.  These new images won’t change anyone’s mind, but hopefully their release means a new trailer or featurette or some fresh look at the film is on the way.
Hit the jump to check out the images.  The film also stars Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, and Noomi Rapace.  Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows opens December 16th.

Leonardo DiCaprio And Tobey Maguire Pilot An Antique On Great Gatsby Set

published: 2011-08-25 14:53:39 Author: Sean O'Connell
Either Leonardo DiCaprio drives himself to set each day in an ostentatious automobile, or we’re getting our first look at a prop from Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, currently filming at the Fox Studios in Australia.

DiCaprio reunites with his Romeo + Juliet director to play Jay Gatsby alongside Carey Mulligan (Daisy Buchanan) and Tobey Maguire (Nick Carraway), the latter of which can be spotted in the passenger seat of Leo’s sweet ride. Here are two of the three images, courtesy of ComingSoon:

Ryan Gosling May Be In Terrence Malick's Next Movie

published: 2011-08-25 07:40:55 Author: Katey Rich

Anyone who's seen their photos from Cannes knows that Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn and star Ryan Gosling adore each other, and are bringing that bromance into their next movie together, a remake of Logan's Run. But if Refn is right about the details of Gosling's life-- and there's no reason to think he wouldn't be-- Gosling might be making another project in the meantime, and this one with another Cannes success, Terrence Malick.

Refn was doing a Q&A following a screening of Drive last night, and according to Film School Rejects he dropped the news that Gosling would soon be working with the Tree of Life director Malick, presumably on the untitled upcoming project that also has Christian Bale interested, and could shoot as soon as the beginning of next year. That means Gosling will sandwich it between what will actually be his and Refn's next movie together, the noir Only God Forgives, and then Logan's Run, which last we checked was still developing just fine.

Of course, we can't take Refn's word as gospel, no matter how many secrets he and Gosling whisper to each other in their treehouse of manly friendship. But it's awesome to see not just that Malick is moving forward so quickly on his next project, but he's rounding up some of the most interesting actors working today to go with him.

Gary Oldman and Marion Cotillard On Set of The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight Rises is currently in production in Pittsburgh, working towards a July 20, 2012 release. Last week, the production was shooting near InventHelp, and one of its industrious employees recorded a five-minute video which captures an entire sequence featuring actors Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, and Josh Stewart. The scene also features Batman's new Tumbler vehicle and what appears to be some sort of police or military tactical unit, although these armed men are in plain clothes. Director Christopher Noln is also seen towards the end of the video, talking with Gary Oldman. It is unclear how this intriguing scene fits into The Dark Knight Rises storyline, but you can click on the video below to watch the action unfold.
