More Images From Clint Eastwood’s J. EDGAR, Plus Eastwood Talks Film’s Take on Hoover’s Sexuality
by Adam Chitwood Posted: August 12th, 2011The fall movie season is about to begin, and character-driven dramas should be just the thing to remedy me from a bad case of blockbuster fatigue. We’ve had our share of popcorn movies this summer, some great (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and some painful (Green Lantern), but I’m very much ready for the promising flicks slated for the second half of this year, including Clint Eastwood’s biopic J. Edgar.
Just yesterday we got our first official look at Leonardo DiCaprio as the titular character in the film, and now a few more images have been released, giving us our first look at Armie Hammer as Hoover’s confidant/purported lover Clyde Tolson. Additionally, Eastwood revealed that the film leaves much of Edgar’s sexuality up for debate. Hit the jump for the images and quotes from Eastwood.

Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, Gary Cole and Brian Geraghty Join GAY DUDE
by Adam Chitwood Posted: August 12th, 2011A number of actors have joined the cast of the Lionsgate comedy Gay Dude. Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally, Gary Cole and Brian Geraghty (The Hurt Locker) are the latest actors to sign on to the comedy directed by Chris Nelson. The story centers on two high schoolers who make a pact to lose their virginity before graduation. The plan goes awry, however, when one of the friends (Hunter Cope) comes out of the closet. Nicholas Braun plays Cope’s best friend, with Dakota Johnson, Drema Walker and Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland rounding out the cast.
Variety reports that Offerman, who is the genius behind the character of Ron Swanson on NBC’s Parks and Recreation, will play Braun’s supportive father. Cole plays Cope’s conservative father, Mullally will play Cope’s mother, and Geraghty will take on the role of Cole’s older brother who is still living at home. The film boasts a strong Parks and Rec pedigree, as Mullally has guest-starred multiple times opposite her real-life husband Offerman, and the script for Gay Dude was written by Parks and Rec scribe Alan Yang. ......... read more; http://collider.com/nick-offerman-megan-mullally-gay-dude/109145/

Patrick Wilson Joins the Cast of Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS
by Matt Goldberg Posted: August 12th, 2011Filming is well underway on Ridley Scott’s quasi-Alien prequel Prometheus but great actors keep joining the cast. We knew the cast already included Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Idris Elba, and Guy Pearce and now it looks like Patrick Wilson (Watchmen) is also in the mysterious sci-fi flick. In an interview with Wilson for his upcoming TV show A Gifted Man, the TampaBay.com[via CBM] mentioned the following:
Wilson will need to leverage everything he’s learned from Shorecrest [Wilson's hometown] to a new role in the highly anticipated Alien prequel Prometheus (directed by original Alien auteur Ridley Scott) for his latest challenge. We don’t know anything about his role but we don’t really know much of anything about the project other than it has the “DNA” of the Alien franchise. Prometheus opens in 3D on June 8, 2012. Wilson will next be seen in theaters in Jason Reitman’s Young Adult. If you need your Wilson fix faster than that, A Gifted Man premieres on CBS on September 23rd.
