First Trailer for Joel Schumacher’s TRESPASS Starring Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman
by Jason Barr Posted: August 17th, 2011
The first trailer for director Joel Schumacher’s thriller Trespass is now available online. Starring Nicolas Cage, Nicole Kidman, and Cam Gigandet, the film takes place in Kyle and Sarah Miller’s (Cage and Kidman) wealthy estate and centers around a home invasion that puts both of their lives and the life of their daughter (Liano Liberato) in jeopardy. I’m not one to constantly berate Schumacher for his fair share of mishaps, but I can’t help but think there is a reason Trespass is purportedly set to hit DVD and VOD platforms a little more than two weeks after its theatrical release. I can’t say for sure, but I think that reason is found somewhere in the midst of all the yelling the trailer contains.
Check out the trailer for yourself after the jump. Trespass opens to theaters on October 14th before hitting DVD and VOD on November 1st.

Matt Bomer Joins Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey in Steven Soderbergh’s MAGIC MIKE
by Jason Barr Posted: August 17th, 2011
Matt Bomer (USA’s White Collar) has signed up to show off the goods in director Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike. Bomer will star alongside Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, and Alex Pettyfer in the pic which is loosely based on Tatum’s own experiences as a male stripper in Tampa. Reid Carolin wrote the script for Magic Mike and Soderbergh has said that he will use Saturday Night Fever as a model while crafting the film. Deadline broke the news of Bomer’s inclusion, however, it stops short of including any details regarding his character. Bomer can next be seen opposite Amanda Seyfried, Justin Timberlake, and Cillian Murphy in writer/director Andrew Niccol’s In Time. That film hits theaters on October 28th.

BIUTIFUL’s Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu Attached to Direct THE REVENANT for Warner Bros.
by Phil Brown Posted: August 17th, 2011
Three-time Oscar nominee Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu isn’t exactly a director known for picking up studio work for hire. He’s not the type of guy who takes meetings to discuss the latest board game adaptation. No, Inarritu is an intensely personal filmmaker responsible for such dark, punishing dramas as Amores Perros, Babel, and Biutiful. All of his work to date has been crafted by Inarritu from the screenplay up with a group of regular collaborators. That’s why it’s odd to hear that he’s signed on to direct a film for Warner Brothers based on a pre-existing property.
The filmmaker is officially attached to an adaptation of Michael Punke’s novel The Revenant: A Novel Of Revenge. Fortunately fans of the filmmaker’s difficult, but often enthralling work needn’t be concerned. This won’t be some sort of Hollywood sell out movie. The material is right up Inarritu’s twisted little alley. Hit the jump for more info on the upcoming adaptation. ........... more; http://collider.com/alejandro-gonzalez-inarritu-the-revenant/109883/
First Trailer for PAGE EIGHT Starring Rachel Weisz and Bill Nighy
by Adam Chitwood Posted: August 17th, 2011
The 2011 Toronto International Film Festival is coming up and I’m insanely jealous of everyone that’s able to go because the line-up of films being showcased is stellar. Among the many features poised to screen at the fest is the spy thriller Page Eight, for which we unveiled a number of new images yesterday. Written and directed by The Reader screenwriter David Hare, the film centers on a long-serving M15 officer (Bill Nighy) who is left an inexplicable file and becomes concerned with a political activist (Rachel Weisz) that begins snooping around. The cast also includes Michael Gambon, Judy Davis, and Ralph Fiennes.
This is very much a teaser trailer, as it doesn’t really give away much of the story. I’m liking the dramatic spy-thriller tone so far though, played much more as a drama than an action film, and I’m intrigued enough to want to see more. Hit the jump to watch the trailer yourself. The 2011 Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 8 – 18th.

New Posters for CORIOLANUS, CONTAGION, and TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY
by Matt Goldberg Posted: August 17th, 2011
New posters have been released for Ralph Fiennes’ Coriolanus, Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion, and Tomas Alfredson’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. The Coriolanus poster is one of the best I’ve seen all year and I would happily hang it on my wall (provided the film is good, and it certainly looks good). The Contagion poster is made up of the character posters we’ve already seen. Finally, there’s a new code-face poster for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. This one features Mark Strong as MI6 agent Jim Prideaux.
Hit the jump to check out the posters. Coriolanus opens December 2nd. Contagion opens September 9th. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy opens November 18th.
