"Bad Santa 2" is Officially in Development
Posted: July 15th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

Back in November, Billy Bob Thornton revealed that there have been talks about a "Bad Santa" sequel and that he would love to return for another installment.

LA Times has now confirmed that Dimension Films is developing a sequel and has quietly hired two writers (who don't know each other) to write two different scripts. The writers are Johnny Rosenthal (Iron Jack) and John Phillips (Dirty Grandpa), who are newcomers but have sold yet-to-be-developed scripts in the past.

After the scripts are finished, the studio will either choose between the two or use one for "Bad Santa 2" and save the other one for the third film.

Chris Pine is Top Choice for "Robocop" Remake
Posted: July 13th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

The upcoming "Robocop" remake is a high priority for MGM. Brazilian director Jose Padilha (Elite Squad) was recently hired and now the studio is looking to cast an actor to play the lead, a near-death police officer who becomes a powerful cyborg cop haunted by his memories.

Twitch has learned that Chris Pine (Unstoppable, Star Trek) is MGM's top choice to play Officer Alex J. Murphy/Robocop. This is a surprising choice, since Pine is a full decade younger than Peter Weller was back in the 1987 original film.

Padilha has yet to approve the choice, so things can still change. And there is still plenty of time for things to change, since the remake is set to hit theaters in 2013.

Posted: July 12th, 2011 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

Disney is re-teaming with Johnny Depp for two new projects, including a big screen version of the 1970s TV movie "The Night Stalker" and a feature film based the Midnight Ride made by Paul Revere to warn Colonial militia of the impending British invasion.

In "The Night Stalker" Depp will potentially play tabloid reporter Carl Kolchak, whose investigation always seemed to lead him to vampires, zombies, werewolves and aliens. During one case, he hunted a killer who was draining the blood of beautiful girls on the Las Vegas strip.

"Midnight Ride" is being written by "Batman Forever" scribes Lee and Janet Batchler. The film will focus on Revere and that 24-hour period in which he made the risky ride from Charlestown to Lexington, becoming a seminal figure in the American Revolutionary War.
