JEFF WHO LIVES AT HOME Starring Jason Segel and Ed Helms Set for March 2, 2012 Release
by Adam Chitwood Posted: July 28th, 2011
Paramount Vantage has slated the comedy Jeff Who Lives At Home for March 2nd, 2012 (per THR). Written and directed by Jay and Mark Duplass (Cyrus), the film stars Jason Segel, Ed Helms, Judy Greer, Susan Sarandon and Rae Dawn Chong. The story centers on Jeff (Segel), a stay-at-home son who gets an epiphany about his destiny while out on an errand for his mother. Helms plays his brother. The Duplass brothers are known for making thought provoking and slightly left-of-center films, and Jeff Who Lives At Home seems to be no exception. The comedy will have its world premiere this fall at the Toronto Film Festival. You can check out the first images from the film here. http://collider.com/jeff-who-lives-at-home-release-date/106371/
Casting Call: David Oyelowo Joins PAPER BOY, Lee Pace Cast in LINCOLN, Cody Horn Added to END OF WATCH
by Bill Graham Posted: July 28th, 2011
Casting is a year round event, and today we have three new casting details to provide. Director Lee Daniels (Precious) has picked up David Oyelowo (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) for his film The Paperboy, while Lee Pace will join Steven Spielberg’s period drama Lincoln. Not to be outdone is Cody Horn, who will join End of Watch with the writer of Training Day, David Ayer, at the helm. Daniels has made quite a few casting changes, with actors dropping in and out. However, it seems this may be the final trio of male actors for the film before production begins. As for Lincoln, everything is fitting in place for a nice film, with Daniel-Day Lewis in the role of Lincoln. First Trailer and Poster for TOWER HEIST Starring Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy [Updated with 5 New Images]
by Matt Goldberg Posted: July 28th, 2011 at 9:14 am
I know I should have zero interest in Tower Heist. It’s directed by Brett Ratner, it has Ben Stiller playing a straight man, and Eddie Murphy hasn’t done a good comedy this century, but I have to admit that the trailer got a couple laughs out of me although they weren’t from Stiller or Murphy. The movie’s got a great supporting cast that includes Michael Peña, Casey Affleck, Matthew Broderick, and Alan Alda, but the biggest laugh in the trailer comes from watching Gabourey Sidibe (Precious) hit on Murphy. I also have to mention that this and Horrible Bosses share the message that if you’re interested in committing a crime, ask a black guy (preferably one who was in Dreamgirls).
Hit the jump to check out the trailer as well as the new poster. Tower Heist opens November 4th. [Update: We've added five new images from the film and replaced the poster with a hi-res version] http://collider.com/tower-heist-trailer-poster/106237/
Comic-Con 2011: Carey Mulligan Interview DRIVE; Plus 18 Images from the Film
by Christina Radish Posted: July 28th, 2011 at 9:03 am
In the action drama Drive, actress Carey Mulligan plays Irene, the mother of a young son whose father (Oscar Isaacs) is in prison. One day, Driver (Ryan Gosling) meets Irene in an elevator ride at his apartment and he becomes transfixed. When trouble starts, Driver finds himself embroiled even further in Irene’s life.
Following the FilmDistrict Studio panel in Hall H at Comic-Con, Carey Mulligan sat down for a roundtable and talked about how Nicolas Refn was on her fantasy wish list of directors that she wanted to work with, the challenge of making a film where the dialogue has been stripped away, how she wishes she had more stunt work to do, and that she would love to play a butt-kicking heroine in an action movie, but preferably without a spandex costume. Check out what she had to say after the jump:
